Why Support A Short Film?
Filmmaking is exciting business; it's why most of us got into it in the first place. But the reality is that doing what we love is expensive business. Our current budget is at approximately $20,000. For this reason, Niagara is seeking donations, both financial and in-kind, to support us as aspiring filmmakers and to help bring this film to life.
We use our resources as effectively as possible to create quality work for a minimal investment. Combining the insurance provided by New York University, donations of services and labor from cast and crew and discounts from rental houses, we plan to reduce our budget so monetary commitment is as low as possible. The fact remains, however, that we need your support. Feeding a cast and crew of 30 people, 3 times a day for 7 days and at about $10 per meal will cost us $6,300. The costs add up that easily. By donating $5,000, you could help us cover our entire camera and lighting budget. Alternatively, $5,000 will help accommodate our cast and crew who have been donating their services at a hotel close to the location. On a smaller scale, a donation of $500 will help us dress all of our actors and cover our wardrobe budget.
We'd love for you to become a part in this project and join the filmmaking journey with us. A short film like Niagara is not made for profit - it is made to showcase the talents of those involved, to be exhibited at festivals with the aim of opening doors to the professional world for students.
WHAT YOU GAIN
Becoming a donor has wonderful benefits, other than helping a striving filmmaker complete the project. In return for a donation, all donors will receive a credit in the film and DVD copy of the film.
Donate $1,000+ and become an executive producer on the film.
Join the team and help make this film come to life!
Note: No donation of any amount will cede ownership of the project from the production team to any donor.
